More information on PATH TA and examples of work in each of these areas that could be supported by the Marketplace can be found below.

What is PATH Technical Assistance (TA)?

Providing Access and Transforming Health (PATH) TA is free technical assistance for eligible organizations. It is paid for by California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). It funds technical assistance to help different organizations and agencies participate in Enhanced Care Management (ECM) as part of the Medi-Cal delivery system, through a marketplace of approved technical assistance providers.

This is part of the statewide implementation of Enhanced Care Management (ECM) under CalAIM. CalAIM, or Medi-Cal reform, focuses on a whole-person approach and providing community-based care to the highest need Medi-Cal members. It aims to improve data sharing and collaboration across many different organizations, including social services, to better serve patients.

PATH TA makes free technical assistance available to a wide range of organizations to participate in CalAIM’s transformational efforts. It can be accessed through the PATH TA Marketplace, a virtual marketplace with vendors who provide support across several different domains.

Who can access free technical assistance through PATH TA?

Any organization or agency who supports the health and wellbeing of Californians and can participate in coordinating care across health care and community settings. This includes community-based organizations, health care providers, and local/county agencies. Organizations must be partnering or planning to partner with a Managed Care Plan (MCP) or other approved entity to make sure Medi-Cal members are connected to the quality care they need.

As an approved vendor, VIVA is able to provide TA support, such as:
